LDRC Economic Development Meeting Thursday

There will be a public meeting on Thursday, November 10 at 6 p.m. at the Central Library on Joor Rd to give citizens an update on the Louisiana Development Ready Communities Program (LADRC) in Central. Several public meetings were held in July of this year to explain the program and seek citizen involvement in the economic growth of the city. Committees were established, citywide surveys were distributed, and a community assessment report was made.

Louisiana ACT Scores Released

The Central Community School District is tied for tops in the state on a national test of college readiness, education officials said Wednesday. Central students compiled a composite score of 21.8 this year on the ACT, which puts the district in a tie with the St. Tammany Parish school system.

Magnolia Square Outparcel Sells

A nearly half-acre outparcel in the Village at Magnolia Square has been sold to a local builder who plans to put a New Orleans-style office building on the site. Steve Rabalais paid $186,166 for the land in the Central TND, says Justin Langlois of Mike Falgoust & Associates, who brokered the deal.
